Spiritual growthGreetings, beloved friends and family in Christ. Today, we gather not just in this shared virtual space but in spirit, united by a call that echoes through the ages – a call to change. The sermon today is called "A Challenge to Change," and we delve into the transformative power of the Gospel to alter our lives.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
Change is a constant in the tapestry of life, yet it is often the very thing we resist the most. The call to change is not merely a call to alter our outward behaviors but to undergo a deep, inward metamorphosis. Today, we confront the challenge laid out in Romans 12:2, where the apostle Paul urges us to 'be transformed by the renewing of your mind.'
Why change? Because to follow Christ is to embark on a journey of continuous growth and renewal. The Gospel is not static; it's dynamic and alive, demanding our whole selves. It's not enough to change our habits; we must allow the Holy Spirit to change our hearts and minds. I challenge each of us to identify one area of our life where we've been resistant to change. Hold it in your heart as we explore how the Gospel gives us strength for this journey. Remember, change is not an event; it's a process. It requires daily surrender, daily obedience, and daily trust.
